BetterPlace acquires lender to blue-collar workers Bueno Finance

Gurugram-based lender to blue-collar workers Bueno Finance has merged with Bengaluru-based BetterPlace. Founded by Saurav Gandhi and Sandeep Arora in 2019, Bueno provides loans to blue-collar workers. BetterPlace has acquired several startups, including OLX People, AasaanJobs, Oust Labs, Waah Jobs, OkayGo, and EzeDox. This year, the company marked its foray into the South East Asia market with two back-to-back acquisitions: Indonesia-based company MyRobin and Malaysia-based flexi talent solutions technology player Troopers.

From the Venture Intelligence PE-VC Deal Database: In Jun-21, Bueno Finance has raised USD 3 million in a seed round from Goat Capital, JAM Fund, Olive Tree Capital and GoodWater Capital. Angel investors such as Kunal Shah of Cred and Anupam Mittal of Shaadi.com also participated. Bueno Finance was part of the Winter 2021 batch of US-based startup accelerator Y-Combinator.
