Brookfield to invest $845-M in Axis Energy's renewable power projects

Canada-based infrastructure investor Brookfield, via Brookfield Global Transition Fund II (BGTF II), is to invest USD 845 million in the renewable energy projects of Hyderabad-headquartered Axis Energy Ventures. Axis Energy focuses on wind, solar and wind-solar hybrid energy projects along with storage solutions through battery and pumped hydro. It has a renewable development portfolio of around 10GW across the country at various stages of implementation. Brookfield currently has a portfolio of over 16 GW of wind and solar assets either operational or in the development pipeline in India.

From the Venture Intelligence PE-VC Deal Database: In June 2019, Brookfield had agreed to acquire two wind farms from Axis Energy Ventures for INR 500 crore.
