Carbon capture solutions provider Carbon Clean raises $150-M from Chevron, others
Carbon Clean, an UK- and Mumbai-based player in cost-effective carbon capture solutions, has raised USD 150 million from existing investor Chevron, who led the round, alongside CEMEX Ventures, Marubeni Corporation and WAVE Equity Partners and new investors, AXA IM Alts, Samsung Ventures, Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures and TC Energy. To date, Carbon Clean has raised USD 195 million, having closed its USD 30 million Series B investment round in August 2021. Headquartered in London, Carbon Clean has offices in India, Spain and the US. The new funds will be used to scale the production of fully modular technology aimed at overcoming the challenges of cost and scale. The funding will support Carbon Clean's goal of becoming a leading provider of carbon capture solutions for heavy industry, which accounts for around 30% of global emissions.
From the Venture Intelligence PE-VC Deal Database: Between Feb-2011 and Feb-2020, Carbon Clean Solutions had raised over USD 21 M from Blume Ventures, Eldos Capital, WAVE Equity Partners and Chevron Technology Ventures, Japan's Marubeni Corporation and Raj Palaniswamy (Virima Technologies).
