Homegrown Private Equity firm ChrysCapital has made a final close of its tenth fund, Fund X, at USD 2.2 Billion. The new fund is set to invest in market leaders across sectors, including enterprise technology, financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, consumer, and new economy businesses. The fund has already begun deploying capital and plans to back 15-16 companies with cheque sizes ranging from USD 75 million to USD 200 million. ChrysCapital intends to allocate approximately 20-25% of the corpus to each core sector, depending on opportunity cycles. The firm expects buyouts to constitute over half of Fund X’s portfolio, reflecting a continuing shift from its earlier funds, driven by changes in India such as family-owned succession issues and conglomerates divesting non-core assets.
