Climate career platform Terra.do raises $5-M from Avaana Capital, SIG, others
Global climate career platform Terra.do has closed a USD 5 million seed round. The round, led by Avaana Capital, saw participation from SIG, the TELUS Pollinator Fund for Good, Precursor, Beenext, City Light, Hummingbird Firm, and Avesta. With participation from 150+ businesses and individuals from a dozen countries, the round also included angel groups MCJ Collective, E8 Angels, C3, and Stanford Angels & Entrepreneurs, as were individuals such as Albert Wenger (founder of Union Square Ventures), David Helgason (founder of Unity), and others. Terra's mobile app provides access to climate professionals and hiring managers at leading climate tech firms, allowing for direct contact between climate businesses and potential employees. Users can also apply for the platform's climate fellowships using the app. The app allows climate tech hiring managers to host huddles, run Ask-Me-Anything (AMA) forums, and engage in conversations with users. Terra aims to bring together professionals from critical climate industries such as energy, mobility, and regenerative agriculture and top experts in areas such as policy, science, and finance.
