College admissions platform CollegeDekho acquires coding startup PrepBytes
College admissions platform CollegeDekho has acquired fellow Gurgaon-based PrepBytes in a cash-plus-equity deal to expand its learning and upskilling vertical CollegeDekho Learn. After the acquisition, the PrepBytes founding team will join CollegeDekho's senior leadership and continue to operate independently. PrepBytes is a coding platform that has users from more than 1,500 Tier 2 and Tier 3 colleges and helps them to learn coding in a personalised way. The company also offers placement guarantee programmes to help students get placed in IT and software companies. CollegeDekho Learn and PrepBytes have more than 155,000 users combined, who have attended more than 92,000 hours of sessions. The acquirer will use PrepBytes' platform to further enhance CollegeDekho Learn, while PrepBytes will be able to capitalise on CollegeDekho's huge reach whilst foraying into non-coding courses as well.
