CVC Capital, RPSG Ventures bag IPL franchises for Ahmedabad, Lucknow

Private Equity CVC Capital Partners (via its unit Irelia Company Pte Ltd bid INR 5,625 crore to acquire the right to own and operate the Ahmedabad franchise of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the professional Twenty20 cricket league. Sanjiv Goenka promoted RPSG Ventures Ltd has picked up the Lucknow franchise with an INR 7,090 crore bid. The new franchises will participate in IPL cricket from the 2022 season onwards subject to the bidders completing the post-bid formalities as specified in the Invitation to Tender (ITT) document.
