D2C kitchenware brand Basil raises Rs.3.6 Cr from Appreciate Capital, CIIE
Bengaluru-based consumer houseware startup Basil has raised INR 3.6 crore seed funding co-led by Appreciate Capital and IIMA Ventures (formerly IIMA-CIIE). The round also saw participation from angel investors including Mohit Sadaani, co-founder, The Moms Co., Aprameya Radhakrishna, co-founder, Koo, Abhishek Goyal, co-founder, Tracxn, Malini Adapureddy, founder, Deconstruct and Brij Bhushan, co-founder, Magicpin.The new funds will be used to expand reach via e-commerce channels, as well as the product portfolio. Basil would deploy 30% of the capital into R&D to develop a nuanced view of market requirements and product design iterations.Basil was founded by Harini Rajagopalan (Ex Amazon) and Mahesh Muraleedharan (Ex Uber India) in 2023.
