D2C seafood seller Pescafresh raises $2-M from Elara Capital

Pescafresh, a Mumbai-based direct-to-consumer (D2C) seafood and meat brand has raised USD 2 million in a funding round led by UK-based Elara India Opportunities Fund. The company will use the fresh capital to invest in geographical expansions and technological intervention that will improve the overall customer experience, to forge strategic partnerships and expansion of the brand's reach. Founded in 2004, Pescafresh functions on the farm-to-fork business model. The brand owns the entire back-end supply chain, including cold chain control, procurement, processing and storage. It will enter the Pune market in May and will also kickstart its operations in Delhi NCR and Bengaluru.
