Drone startup Garuda Aerospace raises $5-M from angels, strategic investor
Chennai-based drone startup Garuda Aerospace has attracted USD 5 million from a large infra development company and high networth individuals (HNIs) from India, the UAE, and Singapore. Founded by Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Garuda Aerospace is an asset-light and market-agnostic company that is backed by its consumers. The company operates in the agri services segment and offers services such as surveillance of crops, mapping of land, crop health, and crop yield mitigation. Garuda Aerospace claims to have inked long-term partnerships with Lockheed Martin, Elbit Systems, Indian Institute of Science, IIT-M, and MIT (Boston). It claims to have a fleet of 400 drones across 26 different cities. The funds will be used to build advanced drone solutions for the Indian Armed Forces.
