Edtech co Brightchamps raises $51-M from Premji Invest, GSV Ventures, others
Hyderabad-based edtech startup Brightchamps, which offers online courses on programming, artificial intelligence, design thinking and financial literacy to kids aged 6-16 years, has raised USD 51 million in a new round of funding. Premji Invest led the round, with participation from GSV Ventures, Flipkart co-founder Binny Bansal-backed 021 Capital and Singapore-based venture fund Beenext. With this, the startup has closed USD 63 million in total funding since launching operations in August 2020. It is now valued at nearly USD 500 million. US-based GSV Ventures had led a previous funding of around USD 12 million. Besides India, Brightchamps is present in 10 countries in the Middle East and Southeast Asia. On the back of the new funding, it plans to expand to the US and Canada.
