Edtech co. Simplilearn attracts $45-M from GSV Ventures, others

Private Equity firm Blackstone-controlled, Bangalore-based upskilling platform Simplilearn, has raised USD 45 million in a funding round led by GSV Ventures, Clal Insurance, and ADQ. The new funds raised will be used to boost the firm's growth plans. Founded by Krishna Kumar, Simplilearn offers access to work-ready training to individuals and businesses around the world. It claims to have 2 million free learners and has added more than 1,20,000 paid business-to-consumer (B2C) learners, and 1,00,000 enterprise learners on its platform.

From the Venture Intelligence PE-VC Deal Database: In Jul 21, Simplilearn had attracted USD 250 M from Blackstone in return for a over 62% stake.
