Edtech Startup Leverage raises $22-M from Kaizen PE, others

New Delhi-based Leverage Edtech, a startup that helps students with higher education and career guidance in foreign universities, has raised USD 22 million in its Series B round at a valuation of USD 120 million. The round saw participation from new investors Kaizen PE, DSP Mutual Fund Group, Artha Ventures, UAE-based NB Ventures and 9Unicorns plus existing investors including Blume Ventures, DSG Consumer Partners, and Tomorrow Capital, among others. Prominent individuals like Morgan Stanley MD Hemant Gupta, CRED founder Kunal Shah, BookMyShow founder Ashish Hemrajani, True North Partner Haresh Chawla, Lenskart founder Peyush Bansal, ShareChat founder Farid Ahsan have also invested. Leverage has forayed into financial services and is awaiting an FFMC (Full Fledged Money Changer) license from RBI, which will accelerate its foreign remittance business.
