Electric 2-wheeler maker Oben Electric raises $1-M in seed funding
Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler maker Oben EV has raised an additional USD 1 million in seed funding from Krishna Bhupal of GVK Power and Infra, and Shajikumar Devakar of IIFL Wealth and other investors. The company had previously raised USD 1.5 million in December 2021, led by We Founders Circle (WFC). Oben Electric was founded in 2020 by Madhumita Agarwal and Dinkar Agarwal, and plans to launch its first indigenously developed performance electric bike in 2022. The startup will use the funds to expand its business capacity, set up a bigger manufacturing infrastructure, accelerate new product development, expand experience centres, and strengthen its distribution plans.
