Electric-bus operator FreshBus attracts Rs.26-Cr from ixigo

Bengaluru-based electric vehicle startup FreshBus has attracted INR 26 crore (USD 3.1 million) in seed funding from ixigo for launching premium inter-city electric bus services across India. FreshBus will start the bus services from Hyderabad and Bengaluru with 24 electric buses. The startup plans to scale up operations to over 1000 buses across the country by 2026. Founded in 2019 by second-time entrepreneur Sudhakar Reddy Chirra, FreshBus will run on a full-stack model with a wide range of services including noise-free air-conditioned cabin, comfortable seating, uniformed and friendly crew, IOT-enabled real-time air-quality and temperature monitoring, security CCTVs, personal charging docks, and Wi-Fi.
