Energy storage startup Clean Electric raises $2.2 M led by Climate Angels, Kalaari
Bhopal-based energy storage solutions startup Clean Electric has raised USD 2.2 million in a seed round led by Climate Angels and Kalaari Capital. The round also witnessed participation of LV Fund, 7Square Ventures and CIIE Regional Innovation Foundation. Founded by Akash Gupta and Abhinav Roy, Clean Electric manufactures, develops, markets, and provides solutions for mobility and stationary storage applications as well as energy infrastructure & services. The company has built liquid-cooled batteries, which are claimed to be safer options for 2 wheelers, 3 wheelers and battery swapping applications. The funds will be used to set up a manufacturing facility in Pune to produce 5,000 battery packs per month, for expanding its R&D, sales & operations teams. The firm will also develop new products around faster charging, renewable energy storage and battery swapping.
