HR-tech platform WorkIndia raises $12-M from Nintendo founding family, Insitor and others
Mumbai-based blue and grey collar job portal WorkIndia has raised USD 12 million (about INR 98 crore) in a funding round led by the founding family of Nintendo - Yamauchi No.10 Family Office - and investment firm Insitor Fund. Tokyo stock exchange-listed SBI Investment and eye-wear firm Persol also participated in the funding round. WorkIndia plans to use the fund for strengthening its product and data science capabilities including entry into the Southeast Asian blue-collar market. WorkIndia administers and digitises the employment process aiming to mitigate any margin of fraud in hiring. It offers services in 772 cities across India. The platform claims to cater to the hiring needs of over 1.5 million small and medium businesses and multiple large corporations.
