Weekendleader

Gurugram-based agri-tech startup, Barton Breeze, has raised USD 8,00,000 in a pre-Series round. The funds, which represent the first investment for the five-year-old company, will be used for product development and to create value-added offerings. The funding round was backed by investors including Rajeev Bairathi (Ex-CEO-Knight Frank), Neeraj Kumar (DSK Legal), Manish Agarwal and Umang Agarwal (KTL Automotive), Shishir Poddar (Tridents Group) and two others. Founded in 2015, Barton Breeze operates fully-automated hydroponic farms to grow clean and pesticide-free vegetables. The startup also sets up such farms for other investors and handholds them initially with know-how and training. It also helps its partners take their hydroponics produce to the marketplace.
