Hyperlocal news app Way2News raises $16.75 M from WestBridge Capital, others
Hyderabad-based hyperlocal short news app Way2News has raised USD 16.75 million as part of its Series A round from WestBridge Capital and Sashi Reddi promoted SRI Capital. Way2News provides short news updates vetted by editorial staff. It allows verified stringers to contribute regularly. Way2News plans to use the funds to add users across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala. The startup will also spend on hiring teams in editorial, sales, marketing segments, and for scaling technology to minimise human intervention in delivering news.
