Investcorp to lead Rs.340-Cr investment in packaging firm Canpac Trends
Global alternative investment firm Investcorp is leading an investment of INR 340 crore in packaging and printing firm Canpac Trends. The transaction will also provide a partial exit to JM Financial India Fund II, which has held investments in Canpac since 2021. The investment banking arm of the JM Financial group acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Canpac and its selling shareholders. State Bank of India has agreed to purchase 3,70,644 shares (6.35% stake) of Canpac Trends at INR 1,349 each, aggregating to almost INR 50 crore. Canpac Trends had reported a total income of INR 389.72 Cr and PAT of INR 9.82 crore for FY23. This investment will enable Canpac to expand its production footprint to key manufacturing hubs nationwide. The funds will also be utilised to accelerate expansion through acquisitions and reinforce R&D initiatives
