Ligsghtspeed invests $5-M in HK-based B2B cross-border trade enabler Markato
Hong Kong-headquartered cross-border B2B wholesale marketplace Markato has raised USD 5 million from Lightspeed Ventures. Lightspeed India partner Rahul Taneja led the investment on behalf of the firm. Markato is focused on digitizing the process of getting boutique brands to overseas retailers. Some examples of the brands it works with include ceramic brands Jore Copenhagen and Ini Ceramique, natural wellness line Nala Care, candle studios Ambustum and Stan Editions and jewelry brand Gisel B. It will begin expanding to other cities soon, beginning with Singapore.
