Maker of food for diabetics Sugar Watchers raises Rs 3.6 Cr from ah! Ventures, others
Mumbai-based Sugar Watchers, a health food brand focused on dealing with diabetes, has raised INR 3.6 crore in a funding round led by ah! Ventures Angel Platform. Other investors in the round include Chennai Angels, Mumbai Angels, Keiretsu Forum, Chandigarh Angels and Sanjiv Rangrass (ex-head of ITC Agro division). Founded by Treman Ahluwalia, Sugar Watchers offers low-GI foods for diabetics and pre-diabetics. The range includes staples such as rice and atta, instant mixes, noodles, pasta and snacks. The funds will be used to scale up in the Indian market and also ramp up exports to the US, the UAE, Singapore, and Israel.
