Media-tech co Amagi attracts $110-M led by General Atlantic
Bengaluru-based media technology company Amagi has raised INR 655 crore (USD 82 million) from General Atlantic. Via a secondary component of the transaction, General Atlantic will acquire 1,12,374 equity and preference shares from an existing investor, for INR 220 crore (USD 27.5 million). The primary and secondary transactions take the total round size to USD 110 million. Amagi, which turned unicorn following a USD 95 million round led by Accel in March this year, provides a complete suite of solutions for content creation, distribution, and monetization. The company claims to support over 650 content brands, more than 800 playout chains, and over 2,000 channel deliveries on its platform in over 40 countries.
From the Venture Intelligence PE-VC Deal Database: Between Oct-09 and Mar-22, Amagi had raised over USD 260 M from Nadathur Holdings, Mayfield, Avataar Venture Partners, Accel India, Norwest, PremjiInvest, Accel India, and KKR Emerald Media.
