Natco Pharma increases its investment in biotech co. eGenesis to $16.70 M

Publicly-listed, Hyderabad-headquartered Natco Pharma is to increase its proposed investment in the US-based biotechnology firm eGenesis to USD 16.70-M, up from the previously proposed USD 14-M. The transaction will be executed through the company’s subsidiaries, with NATCO Pharma (Canada) investing USD 13.70-M and NATCO Pharma USA contributing USD 3-M. The deal involves the purchase of convertible promissory notes that carry an interest rate of 8 percent, compounded annually.eGenesis is a biotechnology firm that develops therapeutic programmes aimed at addressing critical unmet medical needs. Natco Pharma previously invested $8-M in the company during 2024 through its Canadian subsidiary.
