Nazara unit NODWIN buys 10% stake in digital content network Rusk Media
NODWIN Gaming, a subsidiary of Mumbai-based, publicly listed gaming firm Nazara Technologies, has acquired a 10% stake in New Delhi-based digital content IP media network Rusk Media. Rusk Media is a GenZ-focused digital content IP network, and its content is tailor-made for audiences in the 15-25 age group. Founded in 2019, Rusk now delivers over 300 million views across its IPs monthly on social platforms and OTT (over the top) platforms. For FY21, it had posted revenues of INR 7.1 crore. The deal is aimed to allow NODWIN to deepen and widen its portfolio of content IPs in the gaming and esports ecosystem. (Recently, NODWIN Gaming had acquired the gaming and adjacent IP businesses of OML Entertainment, including the IP of the BACARDI NH7 Weekender music festival.) As part of a separate deal announced in October 2021, Nazara had acquired 1,601 shares of INR 10 each, or a 5.54% stake, in Rusk Media, for INR 2.02 crore.
From the Venture Intelligence PE-VC Deal Database: Between Nov-19 and Oct-21, Rusk Media has raised $2.8 M from Info Edge, Nazara, Sprout Venture Partners, Munjal Family Office, and others.
