Virtual event organisation startup Airmeet is in talks to raise USD 25-30 million at over USD 150 million in valuation from existing and new investors. Prosus Ventures and Sequoia Capital are likely to co-lead the new round. The Accel-backed startup had last raised USD 12 million in its Series A round led by Sequoia Capital India and Redpoint Ventures in September last year. The company had also raised USD 400,000 in a seed round and closed a follow-on seed round of USD 3 million from Accel and others in March last year. Airmeet offered an alternative to Zoom during the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic. The startup helps organize meetups, events, workshops and is built specifically for events with a backstage, stage and a social lounge.
