Renewable energy firm Amp Energy raises $50-M from ICG
UK-based Intermediate Capital Group (ICG) has invested USD 50 million in Bengaluru-based Amp Energy India Pvt Ltd, a renewable energy platform. The transaction, which marks ICG's Asia-Pacific Infrastructure team's first investment, provides the investor with the option to invest an additional USD 50 million in Amp Energy. Khaitan & Co and Latham & Watkins LLP served as legal counsels to ICG. Founded in 2016, Amp India is a renewable developer with a 2.7GW portfolio at various stages having a pan-India presence with 150 employees across 16 states.
From the Venture Intelligence PE-VC Deal Database: Between Aug-19 and Jul-21, AMP Solar India had raised over USD 150 M from Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Lightrock India.
