Rural women focused Svatantra Microfin raises $15-M from Proparco of France

Proparco, a private sector financing arm of French public entity Agence Française de Développement (AFD) Group, has invested USD 15 million (around INR 123 crore) in Mumbai-based Svatantra Microfin Pvt Ltd, a firm promoted by Ananya Birla, the daughter of Aditya Birla Group chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla. Svatantra provides finance to rural women entrepreneurs who run small businesses.
