Satya Nadella invests in personal finance platform Groww
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has joined Bengaluru-based personal finance platform Groww as an investor and advisor. Groww enables users to invest in stocks, mutual funds, ETFs, IPOs, gold, etc. The startup had raised USD 251 million (around INR 1,885 crore) last October in a funding round led by Iconiq Growth, which valued the mutual fund and stock investment platform at USD 1 billion. The funding round also saw participation from investors like Alkeon, Lone Pine Capital and Steadfast. Groww's existing investors Sequoia Capital, Ribbit Capital, YC Continuity, Tiger Global and Propel Venture also participated.
From the Venture Intelligence PE-VC Deal Database: Between Jul-18 and Oct-21 Groww raised $393.5 M from Lone Pine Capital, Alkeon Capital, Steadfast Capital, Y Combinator Continuity Fund, Propel Venture Partners, Ribbit Capital, Iconiq Capital, Tiger Global, Sequoia Capital India, Kairos, Insignia Ventures Partners, and others.
