Sequoia Capital sells off 2% stake in Zomato

Venture Capital firm Sequoia Capital India has reduced its shareholding in listed food delivery company Zomato to 4.4 % from 6.41 % earlier. Sequoia Capital India Growth Investment Holdings I and SCI Growth Investments II have sold 171.9 crore shares, representing a 2.01% stake. The sales were carried out through open market transactions in two tranches: the first between Sep 6, 2021 to Oct 14, 2021, and the next between Jun 27, 2022, to Aug 25, 2022. From the Venture Intelligence PE-VC Deal Database: Sequoia had invested in Zollmato between Nov-13 and Sep-17. The company raised about USD 1.9 Billion since then, including from Alibaba, Tiger Global, Steadview Capital and other late stage investors leading up to its IPO in July 2021.
