ShareChat raises $78-M at $4.9 B valuation from Google, Temasek

Regional language-based social media unicorn ShareChat has raised USD 78 million as part of its Series H funding round at a valuation of about USD 4.9 Billion, from Google's investment arm and existing investor Temasek. ShareChat's parent company Mohalla Tech, which has also launched a short video service Moj, has allotted 1,501 Series H CCPS (compulsorily convertible preference shares) at an issue price of INR 40,44,944 a piece for INR 607 crore in cash. Google led the round with INR 405 crore, while Temasek invested INR 202 crore. Post the round, Google will hold a little over 1% stake in Mohalla Tech, while Temasek will hold about 2.64%. The firm may raise more funds as a part of Series H funding round.
