SIDBI FoF open to investing in longer lifecycle AIFs
The Fund of Funds for Startups (FFS) scheme, managed by the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), is open to investing in longer-lifecycle Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) - especially those investing in early-stage startups. Generally, the term of the AIF under the FFS scheme shall be 8-10 years from the date of the final closing of the fund. SIDBI has proposed a new FFS of INR 5,000 crore to the government dedicated to early-stage startups, especially those building in the deeptech and sustainability segment. Currently, the total corpus of the FFS is INR 10,000 crore, of which INR 9,000 crore has been committed to 105 funds, which have further invested in 1,000 startups.
