Small towns focused fintech co WeRize raises $15.5 M led by 3one4Capital
Bengaluru-based financial services startup WeRize has raised around INR 121 crore (USD 15.5 million) in a pre-Series B funding round led by its existing investor 3one4 Capital, with participation from Kalaari Capital, Picus Capital, and Orios Fund. New investors Sony Innovation Fund and British International Investment (formerly CDC Group) also came on board in the fresh round. 3one4 Capital infused INR 38.74 crore (USD 5.031 million) while Kalaari Capital, Picus Capital, and Orios Fund invested INR 15.5 crore (USD 2.01 million), INR 15.5 crore (USD 2.01 million), and INR 12.4 crore (USD 1.61 million), respectively. Sony Innovation Fund and British International Investment have invested INR 15.5 crore (USD 2.01 million) and INR 23.25 crore (USD 3.01 million), respectively. WeRize offers customised credit, group insurance, and savings products to users in small towns in India. In September 2021, the startup had raised USD 8 million in a Series A round from the existing investors.
