Social commerce startup Meesho raises $75-M from Google: report

Bengaluru-based social commerce unicorn Meesho has raised USD 50-75 million from Google. The investment is part of Meesho's recent financing round and values the company at USD 4.9 billion. In September, Meesho raised USD 570 million from US-based asset manager Fidelity and Eduardo Saverin promoted B Capital as part of the same round. Meesho is expected to use the fresh capital to become a consumer-facing e-commerce entity that can compete against dominant players Amazon India and Walmart-controlled Flipkart.

From the Venture Intelligence PE-VC Deal Database: Between Oct-17 and Sep-21, Meesho raised over $1-B from Footpath Ventures, Good Capital, B Capital Group, Prosus Ventures, Trifecta Capital, Fidelity India, SoftBank Corp, Symphony International Holdings, Shunwei Capital, VH Capital, RPS Ventures, Sequoia Capital India, Elevation Capital, DST Global, Integrated Capital and others.
