Teacher training startup CENTA raises $1-M

Bengaluru-based Centre for Teacher Accreditation Pvt Ltd (CENTA) has raised USD 1 million from angel investors including Leo Puri, Pankaj Sahni, Bahram Vakil, and Nikhil Mohta. The funds will be used to introduce Teaching-as-a-Service (TaaS) and bolster the technological capabilities of its platform. CENTA aims to connect educators globally, providing professional development avenues and additional income opportunities by linking them with edtech firms, schools, and government entities. Founded by Ramya Venkataraman, CENTA aims to empower teachers in government schools and elevate the overall quality of education. The company operates in three sectors: teacher training, certification, and skill-based training. It boasts a nationwide presence across 7,000 locations, impacting the lives of over 15 lakh teachers.
