US co Avammune Therapeutics raises funding from The Chennai Angels
Philadelphia, USA-headquartered Avammune Therapeutics Inc has attracted funding from The Chennai Angels (TCA) for completion of IND (Investigational New Drug) enabling studies. The funding will help advance Avammune's assets for oncology and autoimmune disorders. Avammune Therapeutics (formerly known as Straximm Therapeutics), os a spin-off from Bangalore-based Aten Porus Lifesciences. Itis focised on drug discovery via the development of systemically administered small molecule modulators of the "STING" pathway to harness the immune system for fighting cancer. The company is in talks with pharma and biotech companies for partnering for clinical translation of the assets and in parallel with strategic investors for taking the assets through clinical testing independently.
