Veda VC marks first close of $30-M fund at $18-M

Veda VC, a Bengaluru-based early stage venture capital fund, announced the first close of its INR 250 crore (about USD 30 million) fund at INR 150 crore (about USD 18 million), with investments from high-net-worth individuals, startup founders and operators and family offices. The fund plans to write cheques for USD 250,000 to USD 1. 25 million to startups across consumer internet, software-as-a-service (SaaS), fintech and deeptech. The fund, which has made nine funding deployments so far, targets a portfolio distribution of 25% each in SaaS and consumer technology, 30% in deeptech and 20% in the rest.
