Warburg Pincus to acquire majority stake in Vistaar Finance
Global Private Equity firm Warburg Pincus will acquire a majority stake in Bengaluru-based Vistaar Finance, a non-banking finance company (NBFC) focused on lending to medium, small and micro-enterprises (MSMEs). Existing shareholders in the company including WestBridge, Elevar Equity, Omidyar Network India and Saama Capital will be exiting via the transaction that was advised by Kotak Investment Banking. Vistaar provides secured loans to MSMEs across 12 states. It has 205 branches and over 2,100 employees, with assets under management (AUM) of over INR 2,600 crore.
From the Venture Intelligence PE-VC Deal Database: Between Apr-10 and Mar-20, Vistaar had raised over USD 112 M from WestBridge, Elevar Equity, Omidyar Network, Lok Capital and Saama Capital. It has also raised debt from FMO, Symbiotics Group, Triodos, FMO, Bellwether and Oikocredit.
