Whey-making dairy Phyx44 raises $1.2 M from Better Bite Ventures, Ahimsa VC, others
Bengaluru-based dairy Phyx44 has raised USD 1.2 million in a seed round from Better Bite Ventures, Ahimsa VC, PeerCapital, Spectrum Impact, Rohit Gulati (MD at Boston Consulting Group), Sandhya Sriram (CEO, Shiok Meats), Big Idea Ventures, and Humane Society International, among others. Founded by Bharath Bakaraju, the company is using precision fermentation technology to create whey and casein proteins. The funds raised will be used to accelerate research and development, expand the team, and develop products for its key partners. Phyx44 is also eyeing the global market for its products as well as products such as ice cream, cheese, and baked goods.
