German autocomp player Webasto plans $500-M IPO for India unit
German automotive components supplier Webasto is preparing for an initial public offering (IPO) of its Indian subsidiary, Webasto Roofsystems India, by 2027. The proposed public issue is expected to value the company at approximately USD 2 Billion. The firm has mandated Axis Capital and JM Financial to manage the IPO process.Webasto Roofsystems India manufactures openable roof systems and serves major automotive manufacturers, including Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Motors, Hyundai Motor India, and Kia India. To support growing demand for sunroof-equipped vehicles, the company is currently establishing a new manufacturing facility in Haryana. The firm also operates plants in Pune and Chennai.In FY25, the company reported revenue of INR 946.5 crore, compared to INR 720 crore in the previous fiscal year, and achieved a net profit of INR 31.4 crore.
