Accor shelves Treebo acquisition plan

France-headquartered hotel chain Accor has dropped its investment plan in budget hotel platform Treebo . The parties had previously signed a non-binding term sheet and were in the process of finalizing definitive agreements but were ultimately unable to align their positions on key issues.Treebo will aim to independently reach a scale of over 2,000 hotels in the economy segment and more than 100 hotels in the mid-market segment within the next five years.

Between Jun 2015 and Mar 2023, Treebo Hotels had attracted about $8- M from Bertelsmann India Investments, Elevation Capital, Karst Peak Capital, Ward Ferry, Z47, Others.For FY25, Treebo Hotels had reported about INR 128 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 20 Cr in Net Loss.
