EaseMyTrip acquires 55% stake in hotel booking marketplace cheQin

Publicly listed online travel tech platform EaseMyTrip.com has acquired a 55% stake in cheQin, a real-time marketplace (operated by Hyderabad-based Glegoo Innovations Pvt Ltd), that allows travellers to “bargain” with hoteliers. Via the deal, cheQin gains access to EaseMyTrip's network of over 45,000 travel agents and over 11 million customers through this acquisition. The algorithm of cheQin brings in top five lowest offers by hoteliers. The business also provides free signup, dashboard access with a single click, real-time competition data, and regular commission payments to hoteliers cheQin claims to have over 60,000 properties, including hotels, private stays, holiday rentals, beach resorts, and inexpensive rooms, as clients.
