Financial services provider Sapient Finserv merges with Equirus Group
Mumbai-based Equirus Group has merged with Pune-headquartered Sapient Finserv Group through an equity swap deal, establishing a combined wealth management platform with INR 35,000 crore in assets under management (AUM). Sapient’s founders, Amit Bivalkar and Pallav Bagaria, will join Equirus Wealth’s leadership team and board.Founded in 2009, Sapient Finserv currently manages INR 13,500 crore in AUM, serving over 45,000 clients primarily in Maharashtra and the Northeast. The merged entity aims to scale its AUM to INR 50,000 crore by leveraging Equirus’s proprietary research capabilities, which include 35 equity analysts, Portfolio Management Services (PMS) strategies, and venture funds. The platform will operate under two specialised verticals: Equirus Wealth and Equirus Family Office, catering to high net worth individuals (HNIs), ultra-HNIs, and family offices.Equirus Group, supported by investors such as the late Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, Amicus Capital, and Federal Bank, has executed over 315 transactions, raising USD 15 Billion across various sectors.This merger is Equirus Group's third acquisition in the past 12 months, following its deals with Raghnall Insurance Broking and Credence Family Office.
