General Catalyst acquires Indian VC firm Venture Highway
US-based ?General Catalyst? is to acquire India-based early-stage technology-focused venture capital firm Venture Highway (VH Capital). The current team at VH Capital will now operate as General Catalyst India.Founded in 2014 by Neeraj Arora, former Chief Business Officer at WhatsApp and former Google executive Samir Sood, Venture Highway has been an early backer in companies such as e-commerce platform Meesho, business-to-business commerce platform Moglix, workforce fulfilment and HR tech platform BetterPlace, and bus tracking app Chalo.Over the last year, Venture Highway has seen the departure of Founder Samir Sood and SaaS and consumer investment lead Aviral Bhatnagar.
