Medi Assist to acquire rival TPA Raksha Insurance

Bengaluru-based health insurance third-party administrator Medi Assist is to acquire 100% stake in Raksha Insurance TPA which has offices in Faridabad, Mumbai and Bengaluru. This is claimed to be the largest M&A deal so far in the TPA space. The partnership will allow Medi Assist to significantly expand its retail capacities along with strengthening its presence in the hinterland. In November last year, Medi Assist had acquired a 60% stake in UK-based healthcare-focused service provider Mayfair We Care, marking its first overseas acquisition.
