Mumbai-based Reliance Consumer Products Ltd (RCPL) has acquired Chennai-based personal care brand Velvette from Sujatha Biotech. This acquisition supports RCPL’s business plan to strengthen its presence in the personal care and FMCG segment.Established in 1980 by C K Rajkumar, Velvette, a personal care brand by Sujatha Biotech, offers products such as shampoos made using herbal ingredients in black, jasmine, and rose variants. The brand also offers a herbal hair wash powder, blending nine herbs to nourish and strengthen hair roots.
