Tata Consumer to buy instant food brand Tata Q from Tata Industries for Rs.395-Cr
Kolkata-headquartered, publicly listed FMCG firm Tata Consumer Products Ltd (formerly Tata Global Beverages Ltd) is to acquire a 100% stake in Mumbai-based Tata SmartFoodz Ltd (TSFL) from Tata Industries Ltd for INR 395 crore in cash. This move is in line with TCPL's intent to expand into value added categories. TSFL, which commenced operations in 2019, is a player in the ready-to-eat (RTE) market. It has a manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh and offers a range of products including pasta, noodles, biryani and combo meals. For FY21, it posted a turnover of INR 14.66 crore.
