Tata Steel to merge 7 group firms with itself

Publicly-listed Tata Steel Ltd (TSL) is to amalgamate six majority owned subsidiaries with itself. The subsidiaries are Tata Steel Long Products Ltd (where TSL holds 74.91%), The Tinplate Company of India Ltd (74.96%), Tata Metaliks Ltd (60.03%), The Indian Steel & Wire Products Ltd (95.01%), Tata Steel Mining Ltd and S & T Mining Company Ltd (both wholly-owned subsidiaries). TSL will also acquire TRF Ltd where it holds a 34.11% stake.
